Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Provides basic assistive nursing care in a skilled facility setting under supervision of a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse, in accordance with the resident’s/patient’s nursing assistant assignment sheet, card or care plan, furnished by the health care facility.
Performs the duties as outlined in the facility’s policy and procedure manual for Nursing Assistants, i.e., admitting, transferring or discharging residents/patients; take vital signs, change colostomy bags, apply support hose, change unsterile dressings, measure and record height and weight, intake and output, provide care for the residents/patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess current New York State Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Must have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a long term care facility or hospital.
  • Must possess current comprehensive cognitive knowledge and technical skills of a CNA.
  • Must have the ability to follow verbal communications, read and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation and the ability to travel to and from required locations as needed to perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
