Provides quality care to individuals and families requiring home support and/or personal care services to restore and maintain the client’s physical and emotional well-being, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. Under supervision of an assigned professional nurse, assists with the physical and personal care of clients to restore the activities of daily living. The PCA provides personal care and supportive personal services in order to help facilitate a return to normal or maximum level of functioning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (Diploma or GED).
- Must have completed a Personal Care Aide Certification Course.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have the ability to read, write, understand, and carry out directions, maintain simple records, and function with minimal supervision.
- Must respect client confidentiality, have an empathetic attitude toward clients and families requiring care and must continue certification requirements as a home health aide.
- Must have reliable means of transportation and the ability to travel to and from required locations as needed to perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
- Previous related experience is a plus.
