Q: What types of services are provided by Sibley Nursing?

See the complete list.

Q: Will my insurance cover home healthcare services from Sibley Care?

A: Some may require preauthorization of services or co-pays or limit the number of home visits. Nearly all insurances require that you meet homebound criteria – similar to Medicare’s – to be eligible for home healthcare. Sibley Nursing has insurance specialists who can contact your insurance company to determine the specifics of your policy. Most insurance companies will not pay for private duty attendant care.

Q: Can I use Long Term Care Insurance to pay for home care from Sibley Nursing?

A: If you have a Long Term Care Insurance Policy, talk with your representative to verify coverage. You will need to find out if you have a deductible, what the criteria is to meet it and what your daily benefit is. Next you need to know the limitations for utilizing your policy to pay for your care. Many policies only cover if there are at least two deficits in your activities of daily living. Some require that a nurse from their company perform an assessment prior to the start of care. Sibley Nursing will work with you to maximize your Long Term Care Benefits, and when possible, invoice the insurance policy directly so you do not have pay out of pocket. Q: How do you qualify and screen your employees?

A: Sibley Nursing uses a rigorous screening process for all of our medical professionals. We know how stressful it can be to allow a new person into your home. All of our employees are background checked and fingerprinted. Each person must go through several interviews with our recruitment and human resources coordinators and nurses, as well as provide recent, verifiable references. In addition, each person is required to attend orientation and be tested for competency with various types of equipment. They are also required to demonstrate how they handle different situations which can arise in a home or facility.

Q: Does Sibley Nursing offer less-medically-intensive services, such as bathing, dressing, running errands and help using the toilet, for example?

A: Yes, our qualified and compassionate Home Health Aides can assist you with activities of daily living. Activities of daily living are activities related to personal care and include bathing or showering, dressing, getting in or out of bed or a chair, using the toilet, eating and many others. Q: Does Sibley Nursing have enough staff available to provide the type of care that my doctor requested? How quickly can you provide service?
